Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro Review: Samsung Earbuds

Although the idea of an ecosystem product is not new, few people have been able to create a platform that meets all its goals. Samsung has been working on this idea for some time now with its Galaxy Buds line of wireless earphones. These earphones are compatible with Samsung’s smartphones and tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro is the latest product in the range. It’s the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro headset, which was released in 2021.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro headset is priced at Rs. 17,999 in India. Is this the perfect companion for your Samsung smartphone? This review will help you find out. and Also Avialble on Amazon and Flipkart

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro design features

Samsung has always chosen bold colours for its products, even for its wireless earphones. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro currently has three color options, which are chosen to match the company’s smartphone line: graphite (white), bora purple (bora violet) The bora purple version I was sent for review is very nice. However, many people might prefer to match it to their smartphone’s colour.

There are some significant design changes compared to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro. Although the charging case is similar in size and shape, it has a more matte finish. The earpieces have also seen significant improvements that make them much more comfortable to wear. The Buds 2 Pro fits snugly and is noise-isolating. This aids in active noise cancellation.

The earpieces have been made smaller and lighter. They feature microphones on the outside and inside for voice and ANC functionality. There is also a wear detection sensor and a wear-detection sensors on the inside. The earpieces have an IPX7 rating for water resistance and are therefore capable of withstanding significant water exposure. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro comes with three pairs of silicone tips. This allows for customizing the fit and includes a USB Type C to Type C cable for charging. and you can buy it on Amazon and Flipkart

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro has touch controls that can be customized through the companion app and deactivated completely if necessary. The touch controls can be used to control playback, transparency, active noise cancellation, and answering and declining calls. However, a new feature called ‘Labs’ in the app lets you adjust the volume by double-tapping on the edge of your earpieces.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro also includes 360 Audio with head tracking (for virtualised surround sound effects), quick pop-up pairing of Samsung devices, voice detect that lowers the volume and activates transparency when the user speaks, and support for Samsung SmartThings. This app allows you to locate your earpieces in a similar way to Apple’s Find My App. Bixby voice assistant can be used natively on the earphones, but it is not possible to use any other voice assistants from the earphones. and you can buy it on Amazon and Flipkart

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro App and Specifications

Samsung’s app experience with the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro can be confusing. It all depends on which device you will use the headset with. On a Samsung phone, I had the Galaxy Wearable app installed. However, on a non-Samsung phone, I needed to also install the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro Manager App. This allowed the Galaxy Wearable app to use the earphones.

The app experience was identical regardless of whether I was using a Samsung smartphone, or an Android smartphone. There is not an iOS companion app, but universal Bluetooth connectivity allows you to use your earphones with any iPhone. and you can buy it on Amazon and Flipkart

The app displays a graphical representation of the battery level for both the earpieces as well as the charging case. Below, there is a section that allows you to switch between ambient and ANC sound modes. Voice detect, 360 audio and touch controls can all be toggled and customized. You can further control the equaliser, Bixby and in-ear detection for phone calls through the menu called “earbuds settings”. A widget can be added to the home screen to toggle between transparency and ANC modes.

There is no toggle to activate in-ear detection for playback. The earpieces can be removed simultaneously to pause the music. However, this does not work if only one earpiece is removed, as it does with other headsets. ANC will turn off if you remove any earpiece. However, this can be corrected with a software upgrade, as the hardware is still in place and works perfectly. and you can buy it on Amazon and Flipkart

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro uses Bluetooth 5.3 to connect, with support for the SBC, AAC and SSC HiFi 24-bit Bluetooth codescs. Bluetooth 5.3 is also suggested that Bluetooth LE Audio could be added in the future. The SSC Hi Fi codec works the same way as the Scalable codec, and even shows up on a Samsung smartphone as such. However, there is a noticeable difference in the bits per sample. This has gone from 16-bit down to 24-bit.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro battery life and performance

The Bluetooth codec used by Samsung makes Samsung’s ecosystem play a little different than Apple’s. It is tempting to pair the earphones with compatible Samsung smartphones or tablets. The Scalable codec unlocks better sound quality. Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro promises better audio quality than any other options, including LDAC and Qualcomm-aptX.

Although it is called the ‘Samsung Seamless Hi-Fi Codec,‘ you will still see the codec ‘Scalable.’ (requires OneUI 4.0 or higher). The bits per sample and sampling rate register at 24 bit and 48kHz, respectively. This is an improvement on the 16-bit and 44.1kHz registered on previous Samsung true wireless headsets like the Galaxy Buds 2. The overall sound quality is noticeably better than other options from Sennheiser and Sony. and you can buy it on Amazon and Flipkart

Drop The Pressure, a club song by Mylo, was refreshingly refreshing to listen too. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro’s tonality was remarkable, especially when the rhythmic and heavily auto-tuned vocals came in. This made the synthesised track sound almost orchestral, and it was performed live. It is a great sonic signature and tone.

The true wireless Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro true wireless headphones are loud. You can turn the volume up to 70% with the correct codec and enjoy a rich and detailed soundstage. The melody and bass thump of Go 2 by Netsky seemed to vibrate through the music, while the intensity and drive gradually increased with the song’s speed.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro’s sonic signature has a noticeable increase in the lows and the highs while the mid-range only sees a slight decrease. This results in a sound that is compatible with most popular music genres. The codec capabilities and driver tuning allow the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro to keep up with the fastest tracks. and you can buy it on Amazon and Flipkart

The AAC Bluetooth codec is used by the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro with non-Samsung phones (I tested it with an iPhone, OnePlus, and a OnePlus smartphone). The sound quality was still quite good, but there was a noticeable difference in the tonality and detail. If you don’t own a compatible Samsung smartphone, this does make the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro a disadvantage.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro’s active noise cancellation is outstanding and comparable to similarly-priced alternatives in the true wireless segment. The headset reduces noise indoors as well as outdoors. It is especially effective against wind noise and urban hum. The ANC does not have an adaptive or custom control. It can be set at the maximum setting or turned off.

Ambient sound mode was also effective. It gave a natural, almost unaffected sense of hearing that was comparable to not having any headphones on. The mode was not as loud as the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Generation), but it did sound more natural than the AirPods Pro (2nd Generation).

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro’s battery life is five hours with ANC turned on. I was able match that figure during my testing. For a total of 18-19 hours, the charging case added nearly three additional full charges. Although this is not the best, it is still good considering the headset’s Bluetooth codecs as well as ANC quality. The USB Type-C port charges the headset quickly, and Qi wireless charging is also available.and you can buy it on Amazon and Flipkart

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro is the best choice if you already own a Samsung smartphone or plan to purchase one in the near future. This product has many ecosystem benefits, including a better 24-bit HiFi codec that improves sound quality. This pair of headphones is quite complete thanks to the excellent active noise cancellation and decent design. and you can buy it on Amazon and Flipkart

You should look for a Samsung smartphone if you don’t already own one. Samsung’s new true wireless earphones are excellent but not as compatible with other products like Sennheiser and Sony. It might be worth looking at the less expensive, but just as good, Samsung Galaxy Buds 2.
